Hendersonville, N.C. – Crossnore Communities for Children (Crossnore) invites the community to a festive Holiday Pop-Up Shop and Weaving Demonstration on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the organization’s newest western North Carolina (WNC) location at 1410 Greenville Highway, Hendersonville. On-site holiday festivities follow Crossnore’s recent opening of an expanded base for operations serving families throughout Henderson County and surrounding areas.
Guests in Hendersonville will enjoy real-time demonstrations by the Crossnore Weavers, a holiday pop-up shop featuring unique gifts and complimentary refreshments. A ceremonial ribbon cutting at noon celebrates the recently expanded Hendersonville-area headquarters to the community, symbolizing a continued investment in the region. With its growing footprint, Crossnore is working to serve more children and families in WNC’s rural mountain counties where gaps exist in child welfare and behavioral health services.
“We believe every child deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and hopeful about the future, and we’re excited to continue to expand the reach and resonance of our work with children and families involved in the child welfare system,” said Angela Bollo-Higgins, regional director of community engagement for Crossnore. “Collaborating with local partners helps us understand how our staff and resources can support the needs of vulnerable children, families and communities.”
Bollo-Higgins added that Crossnore’s continuum of services includes clinical therapy, family preservation programs, professional foster care, and adoption from foster care for children.
This special holiday celebration is the first of two in the region and is free and open to the public. Community members, partners, and supporters are encouraged to stop by, shop for the holidays, meet the Crossnore team, and learn more about how the organization is supporting children and families in WNC. A second holiday shopping celebration will be held at Crossnore Weavers & Fine Arts Gallery in Crossnore in Avery County on Friday, December 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
