Giving to Crossnore

There are many ways you can give to Crossnore, and our goal is to make it as easy as possible.

Financial gifts

Please make your checks payable to Crossnore Communities for Children. Indicate your gift restriction in the memo section of the check. If there is nothing noted in the memo section, your gift will be processed as an unrestricted gift. All gifts should be mailed to The Office of External Relations, Crossnore Communities for Children, P.O. Box 249, Crossnore, NC 28616

A donor-advised fund receives donations from donors who make their tax-deductible donations at a public charity fund such as Fidelity Charitable, BNY Mellon Charitable Gift Fund, or Schwab Charitable.  As the donor-advised fund grows, the donor can then recommend grants to any IRS-qualified public charity.

Crossnore Communities for Children accepts gifts of stock, crypto, and Qualified Charitable Distributions, offering our donors options in how they use their assets to help children build resilience and ensure safety and smiles.

Please contact your financial advisor for more information regarding the benefits of transferring securities to Crossnore Communities for Children.  For Crossnore’s current transfer instructions, please contact Brandon Cathey, Vice President of Development.

Crossnore Communities for Children accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Make your gift online today! Donate by credit card.

Many companies will match their employee’s charitable gift. You may be able to double or even triple the impact of your gift if your company has this program. Check with your company’s human resources department to see if there is a matching gifts program.

If you are interested in donating personal property to Crossnore Communities for Children, please contact Brandon Cathey, Vice President of Development. Some gifts will require a certified appraisal or advance approval in order to be accepted.

All gifts of real estate require prior approval by Crossnore Communities for Children. The Office of External Relations can walk you through the approval process. For more information, please contact Caroline Hart, Chief External Relations Officer.

You can leave a lasting legacy and provide for the children of Crossnore Communities for Children by including Crossnore in your will or estate plan. Your planned gift qualifies you for inclusion in our prestigious Martha Guy Society. Learn more about Estate Planning here.

The Crossnore Promise Scholarship program represents Crossnore’s promise to deliver state-of-the-art services to children and families in western North Carolina. The only way to achieve this is through the financial support of donors like you.

Bridge Scholarships help “bridge the gap” between what the Department of Social Services pays and the actual cost to house and provide supportive holistic services for our residential students. Bridge Scholarships make possible things like spiritual life, recreation opportunities, and travel.

Examples of Support

Crossnore therapists are trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, individual and family counseling, as well as group therapy.

Examples of Support

  • $2,500 provides 25 trauma-focused clinical sessions throughout one year for one child.
  • $600 makes six sessions with a licensed therapist possible for a child.

Discover Scholarships fund Adventure-Based Counseling (ABC) services for children who are Crossnore clients. ABC is a group counseling program that utilizes experiential learning with engaging activities that help participants develop strong social skills and achieve personal growth. These specialized services are entirely funded through private donations.

  • $1,000 provides two ABC group sessions for six to 10 children.
