Creating Memories in the Everyday
Our Cottage Parents know that healing doesn’t only happen during therapy sessions or big milestones. It happens around the dinner table or during an evening walk around campus. Healing happens during the summer reading assignments. It grows through consistency and trust.
Summer creates more opportunities for those everyday moments. Whether they’re planning a karaoke night, taking kiddos on a trip, or simply sharing breakfast before the day begins, Cottage Parents create the kind of home every child deserves.
It’s not about creating a perfect summer. It’s about creating a place where children feel safe enough to be themselves.
Opening Their Homes
Across North Carolina, our Bridge Parents are doing that same work in their own homes. They welcome children and teens who need stability while working alongside biological families, social workers, and the Crossnore team. They celebrate victories, navigate challenges, and offer children something that can change everything: the confidence that someone will be there today (and tomorrow).
That commitment doesn’t pause when school is out. If anything, summer offers more time to build relationships and help children experience the simple joys of being a kid.
