Sarah Norris serves as the Chief Program Officer for Crossnore Communities for Children. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Gardner-Webb University, a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Winthrop University, an MBA from East Carolina University, and an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. Sarah has worked in child welfare for more than 15 years, holding positions with the NC Department of Health & Human Services, as well as at the county level in social services.
In her spare time, Sarah loves to create art, run, travel, read, and spend time with her family. She is married to Steve and the couple has two daughters.
Sarah is a self-taught artist who uses art as her hobby and escape. With the encouragement of friends and family, she decided to share her art with others even though it feels scary. Sarah loves trying new techniques and gets great joy from the gut feeling of knowing when a piece is finished. As the mom of two young girls, Sarah loves inspiring them to be creative and says, “They probably inspire me, even more, when we work on pieces together.”
