Cindy Wagner grew up in Wisconsin near Lake Michigan but has lived in the southeast for the past twenty-five years, the last eighteen in Charlotte, NC. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a former teacher, Cindy’s study of painting includes classes taken at Queens University of Charlotte, Central Piedmont Community College, and extensive study with nationally acclaimed artist Andy Braitman.
There are moments each day when Cindy says she is struck by the beauty and wonder of the natural world around her. Whether a landscape, a city scene, a child at play, or a simple still life, the effect of light and color on the atmosphere or object is a source of endless joy and fascination for Cindy. Capturing these impressions on canvas has become a passion and putting brush to canvas every day is an adventure for her. Cindy’s goal as an artist is to evoke an emotional response from the viewer by means of fresh and spontaneous brushstrokes, light, and color.
