Senior Director of Child Welfare
Melissa Morrissette-Hurst serves as the Senior Director of Child Welfare for Crossnore. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the College of New Rochelle, and a Master of Social Work from New York University. Melissa has worked in child welfare for 20 years, holding director level positions with both Sheltering Arms and Children’s Aid in New York City. Melissa moved to North Carolina and joined Crossnore Communities for Children in 2020 and oversees our foster care, therapeutic foster care, adoptions, and KinGap programs. She is a trained yoga teacher and likes to bring a sense of mindfulness to her work with children and families.
