It is the policy of Crossnore School & Children’s Home to ensure the confidentiality of every client record. Procedures are in place and staff is trained in how to safeguard client records, which are the property of the agency. These measures include reasonable and appropriate physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect client’s Protected Health Information. Agency procedures ensure that client records are protected against loss, tampering, defacement, or use by unauthorized persons. Crossnore School & Children’s Home also recognizes that clients and specified other parties have limited rights to access client records. The organization provides access to these individuals as outlined in the organization’s procedures and as permitted by law. Crossnore School & Children’s Home also acknowledges that authorized users, as defined in related procedures, are assured unrestricted access to the record at all times. In accordance with North Carolina General Statutes and federal regulations, organization procedures for ensuring confidentiality of client information are followed by organization staff.
