Get Involved

Crossnore School & Children’s Home is successful because of the generosity of so many.

Volunteers make a difference in the children’s lives by enhancing the overall campus community and by being a positive, healthy influence. In addition, friends of Crossnore School & Children’s Home give generously throughout the year to support the everyday needs of the children. We depend on private resources to support our annual operating budget. There are countless ways to give back to this special place.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization and support every aspect of our work. Whether sorting donations in the Bird Cage or Treehouse, being a Visiting Resource or Cottage Sponsor, or assisting teachers in the classroom, we’ll help you find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you!
As a 501(c)3 organization, Crossnore School & Children’s Home depends on donations to support the School’s annual operating budget. Gifts to Crossnore are put to work immediately directly supporting the children that call our campuses home. You won’t have to look very far to see your contribution at work.

Racism is Trauma

Crossnore School & Children’s Home exists to be a sanctuary for children and their families and racism destroys sanctuary. Racism is trauma and is part of systemic community trauma that has long term negative impacts on people and communities of color. Crossnore believes that black lives matter, and we are committed to building an anti-racist organization and supporting the development of racial equity in our communities.
