Foster Care & Adoptions

Foster Care & Adoptions

The mission of Crossnore School & Children’s Home Foster Care and Adoptions is to license and supervise single-family foster homes and therapeutic foster homes. We also partner with the counties we serve to effectively and efficiently recruit for and match children who desire to be adopted with qualified loving families.

Families interested in providing a foster home or a forever home for children in need will receive training, a home study, and ongoing monthly support throughout the foster care licensing process and beyond.

There are many ways to support foster children in North Carolina. Click on the links below to find out how you can become a foster parent, how you can support foster parents, how your church or community can support foster parents, and to see current foster care statistics for your county.

“What I really would like is spending quality time with my mom and dad and going places together… I really want just a regular family who goes to church and will help me with my homework… I want a family to love me for me.”

~ Megan, Age 11

Due to Government recommendations regarding social distancing, Foster Care Interest meetings and Trainings will be provided via tele-conferencing at this time. Further information will be provided soon.

Racism is Trauma

Crossnore School & Children’s Home exists to be a sanctuary for children and their families and racism destroys sanctuary. Racism is trauma and is part of systemic community trauma that has long term negative impacts on people and communities of color. Crossnore believes that black lives matter, and we are committed to building an anti-racist organization and supporting the development of racial equity in our communities.
