Robert Martin

Robert Martin has been an organic metal designer for the last five years. His works include functional furniture, lamps, chandeliers and wall sconces all hand wrought with a certain whimsy to the pieces. Rob has designed and installed his creations in Charlotte restaurants and office buildings. He also teaches metal working classes at Mayland Community College.

Robert lived on the campus of Crossnore School, Inc. when his father was the director of the school and his mother taught at Crossnore Elementary. He is a graduate from Wofford College and has studied and taught abroad in France, Italy, and Spain.

Racism is Trauma

Crossnore School & Children’s Home exists to be a sanctuary for children and their families and racism destroys sanctuary. Racism is trauma and is part of systemic community trauma that has long term negative impacts on people and communities of color. Crossnore believes that black lives matter, and we are committed to building an anti-racist organization and supporting the development of racial equity in our communities.
