Chuck Robertson

A large part of Chuck Robertson’s life has been about birds. His interest began in 1981 when he finished  10 years of service in the United States Air Force. His work consists of detailed sculptures of birds. While he does all kinds of birds, Chuck is especially drawn to birds he sees around the river at his home in New York.

Chuck’s life took a turn in a new direction in the Spring of 2015. He accepted a position as a Park Ranger for the National Park Service on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Now Chuck will spend summers as a Park Ranger and his winters as a wildlife artist.

Racism is Trauma

Crossnore School & Children’s Home exists to be a sanctuary for children and their families and racism destroys sanctuary. Racism is trauma and is part of systemic community trauma that has long term negative impacts on people and communities of color. Crossnore believes that black lives matter, and we are committed to building an anti-racist organization and supporting the development of racial equity in our communities.
